NEED TO SOOTHE YOUR MASKNE? LOOK FOR ROSE IN YOUR SKINCARE.

Rose is a popular ingredient in skin care — and with good reason. Its mild astringent properties help tighten the pores and gently tone the skin. It hydrates, calms, heals, and maintains the skin’s pH balance.

Other important skin benefits of rose water are its anti-inflammatory effects (it can soothe the irritation caused by conditions such as eczema and rosacea), and its antioxidant effects on free radical damage.

Rose water acts as an inhibitor against elastase and collagenase, which are both harmful to the skin.

This, in turn, can help soothe the skin and reduce redness, as well as act as an anti-aging product by reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

It takes tens of thousands of rose blossoms to yield 1 ounce of rose essential oil. That makes rose oil one of the most expensive essential oils.  Floral water is derived from an intricate process. Small batches of rose buds are steamed in copper distilleries and ultimately release a therapeutic compound into the water. The essential oil is drawn off, and rose water, containing micro molecules of essential oil and constituents from the flower is captured drop by drop.

Our Balancing Toner contains a blend of our signature organic raspberry water & Rosa Damascena flower water, one of the most important species of Rosaceae family. Because of the low oil content in R. damascena and the lack of natural and synthetic substitutes, essential rose oil of this plant is one of the most expensive ones in the world markets.

Our Balancing Toner is also infused with pro-vitamin B5 that accelerates cell turnover, resulting in anti-ageing benefits. Low molecular weight Sodium Hyaluronate and Glycerin attract and hold moisture, which enhances skin barrier’s repair. Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice calms, soothes and further reinforces hydration.

As many of us are experiencing more acne breakouts due to mask-wearing, referred to as "maskne", it is imperative to make our skin more resilient establishing a skincare routine incorporating barrier-repairing, gentle ingredients. The ‘maskne’ conditions stem from compromised skin barrier and can lead to redness or small bumps centered around hair follicles. ALBIVA products with skin barrier-building ingredients such as ceramides in our Serums, hyaluronic acid, squalene, glycerine and rose water amongst others can help prevent this type of acne.
